Ten of the ladies have already received their Badges which enables them to purchase Autorickshaws.
As the next step towards helping the ten ladies, the Trust will contribute ( 70% plus) towards the purchase of Autorickshaws.
Project planned for December 2025 — We are sourcing funds towards this and will surely meet the Goal.

Empowering Women with Wheels – A Call for Support
Recently, 26 women from disadvantaged backgrounds, some of them sole earners or supporting families in distress, were trained and successfully received their autorickshaw driving licences through the Trust’s efforts.
But a licence alone is not enough. We are helping them to get their badges which will enable them to own autorickshaws. To help them take the final step towards economic independence, we now aim to provide autorickshaws to 10 of these deserving women providing them a steady income and means to uplift their families.
The cost of one autorickshaw is approximately ₹3.5 lakhs. We believe that when we empower a woman, we empower a family. And when we stand behind the dreams of the less fortunate, we make this world a kinder, more equal place.

Auto Rickshaw Driving Training & Licensing – A Step Toward Women’s Empowerment:
As part of a collaborative initiative between Shreeram Radhakrishnan Memorial Trust and Shree Shankara Hindu Mission, 26 women were trained and successfully obtained their Auto Driving Licences. This impactful project was implemented under the CSR program of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd. Our heartfelt thanks to the generous donors who made this possible.

January 2025 : When we started the campaign in January 2025 to empower women of CBD and Belapur areas (where we have Shikshaangans), Shree Shankara Hindu Mission contacted our Trust and proposed to sponsor the entire training of the women under their head of Women Empowerment. 14 ladies have already completed the training and the remaining 12 are undergoing training. It is expected that the 26 ladies will get their Auto Driving Licence by March-April.

16 needy ladies took part free Auto driving lessons through a training institute and have successfully cleared the three wheeler driving exams, a dream of many ladies belonging to the underprivileged section of the society. (more ladies are expected to join the programme after the present batch). This is also a part of our women’s empowerment campaign.
October 2021, Auto Driving Course: As a part of our continuous efforts to equip students and others with additional skills, we have embarked on the path of empowering needy women with Auto Driving Skills. To start with, 20 ladies have enrolled for the course. More ladies have expressed interest and hope to join this campaign to acquire this additional skill. The target this year is to empower at least 25 ladies with this skill.
We hope that this additional skill will empower the ladies, enable them to earn some additional income & make them feel that they are moving up in the strata of the society. Some may be the proud owners of autos in the near future. In the photograph below are some of the interested ladies along with our Trustee, R.
