The award function is a sequel to reaching out to needy students, scrutinizing their applications, taking interviews of the students and parents and then selecting the students who need to be awarded financial assistance to help them pursue their studies.
In our first year we supported the education of 25 students. This academic year around 250 students were identified and provided financial assistance to the tune of 21 lakhs( some of the selected students are still awaiting admission). Many of the students who are being supported don’t have fathers, a great many are rag pickers or daily wage earners, a good percentage of the mothers are rag pickers, household maids, some of the students’ fathers are postmen, drivers and watchmen.
The students who have been supported are students from the 1st standard to final year engineering. Mr. Pratish Nair, a highly sought after reputed speaker was the guest of honour who gave a fantastic motivational speech and regaled the audience with his humour. Mrs. Rajeswary Balachandran graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mrs. Rajeswari gave a wonderful speech and praised the Trust for all it’s charitable activities . The dances and the songs by the children were really wonderful.
