Rural Activities : Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vidyalaya , Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary School ; School at Kharpada

Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vidyalaya at Vasheni Village, URAN: This school is run by the village Trust. There around 120 – 130 students studying in the school, in standards 8th to 10th. The funds for the school comes from the village Trust and this Trust suffers from lack of funds depriving the 120 odd children of many facilities. Something needed to be done. Our Trust teamed up with ApMoSys, a software company based in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, and carried out upgradation of the School. The School playground that was lying unused due to a completely rocky terrain was cleared of rocks and converted into a playground.

Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary School at Vasheni Village, URAN: Upgradation of the School’s Computer and Library Sections were carried out by teaming up with ApMoSys, a software company based in Mahape, Navi Mumbai.

25th January 2022: Academically, the school has been performing very well. During our earlier visit we had observed that the condition of the school was not good –Due to paucity of funds, for the past 27 years no work had been carried out in the school. The doors and windows were in bad condition & some windows also missing, Painting seemed long overdue. The back portion of the school walls had no plastering. We also observed that the huge ground in front of the school had rocks jutting out from the ground making the ground unusable. Levelling the ground would allow children to play games.

We coordinated with the Village Sarpanch and lined out the different activities related to the work to be carried out. After coordinating with the Village Sarpanch, on the 25th of January, we went on a visit to progress of the work in the school. We were in for a surprise as the school staff, the students and some of the villagers had gathered to give us all a rousing welcome.

A major part of the repair work has been completed. Some photos of the school before and after the repair follow.

We were helped generously by ApMoSys, a Software Company based in Mahape, as a part of their CSR activity.

Vasheni Zilla Parishad Primary School. URAN : This school houses students from the 5th to 7th standard & there are 40 students in each class. The Computer & the Library section are badly equipped. We are revamping the Computer and Library Sections. We have repaired the existing non-working computers, procured five new computers, 17 tables and 30 chairs. Books and creative indoor games have been procured for the library. We are also sponsoring an Instructor to teach the children computers.

School at Kharpada: Visited the under construction School in the village. Discussion of the involvement of Trust in their school upgradation work is under discussion.
