“Empowering Women – Through Tailoring Skill“
Providing tailoring training to underprivileged women is more than just teaching a craft — it’s about opening doors to independence, self-respect, and sustainable livelihoods. By equipping them with the skill to stitch, alter, and create garments, we help these women take control of their financial future.
Many of the participants work in the fields during the mornings and have spare time with them. With this new skill, they gain an additional source of income by taking up small stitching jobs from their community — be it school uniforms, blouses, or household curtains. Some even go on to start small tailoring businesses from home.
Beyond economic benefits, the course brings self-confidence, a sense of purpose, and a newfound ability to support their families. It allows women to contribute actively to household decisions and gives their children a role model in resilience and determination.
