Street Play held on the 24th of March 2018
TB Awareness Campaign, 25th June at Shiravane Vidyalaya, Nerul: 150 plus 9th standard students took part in the Campaign. The Campaign is a joint Protect of our Trust, Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside and Samarth Clinic. Dr. Mukul Thorat of Samarth Clinic made the presentation.
The students asked a large number of questions.
Lalitha led the Pledge ( where they promised to did the message of TB menace). All the participants were later given specially prepared booklets on TB and chocolates.

23rd Feb 2019 : Conducted a TB Awareness Campaign for the workers of Construction site in Navi Mumbai ( respecting the request, the name of the Site is not mentioned).. This Campaign was done along with the Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside and Samarth Clinic. Around 150 workers participated. Lalitha led the Pledge to spread the message of TB menace amongst their family members and friends.

March 1st: Conducted a TB Awareness Campaign for the 150 odd 9th Std students of Shiravane Vidyalaya, NMMC School in Nerul. This Campaign is jointly conducted by our Trust, Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside and Samartha Clinic, headed by Dr. Mukul Thorat. Dr. Mukul made a great presentation. We had a lively question answer session… Very intelligent questions were asked. Lalitha led the Pledge where the students promised to spread the message of the menace of TB in the society. The Campaign was attended by the Principal and four teachers. TB booklets in Marathi and chocolates were handed over to all the participants.
Location: Nerul Gymkhana Amphitheatre; Date : 19th Jan 2019: More than 300 students and parents attended the TB Awareness Campaign. Dr. Jayalakshmi from Apollo Hospital made the presentations and answered the questions from the participants. As usual, the presentation by Dr. Jayalakshmi was superb. As in the earlier sessions, the students took the Pledge to spread the message of the menace of TB in the society. This Pledge was led by Lalitha Radhakrishnan. TB Awareness Campaign; Location; NMMC Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Nerul ; Date : 19th Dec 2018: 120 students and three staff members attended the campaign. Dr. Mukul Thorat from Samarth Clinic once again made a wonderful presentation and answered all the queries of the participants. As in the earlier sessions, the students took the Pledge to spread the message of the menace of TB in the society. This Pledge was led by Brigadier Dharamprakash. At the end each participant was handed a booklet on TB written in Marathi and a chocolate.

TB Awareness Campaign; Location: Shiravane Vidyalaya, Nerul; Date : 26th Sept. 2018. Conducted two TB Awareness Campaign in the School. A total of around 100 students of 10th std.( two divisions) took part. Radhakrishnan explained and made the presentation about TB( how, why, MDR TB, how to prevent, what we can do) and then the students took the Pledge under the guidance of Mrs. Lalitha to spread the message of TB menace in the society. The children showed a lot of interest and asked a lot of questions. Students asking good questions were rewarded with chocolates. After all this booklets on TB were distributed to all the participants.
TB Awareness Campaign; Location: Shiravane Vidyalaya, Nerul; Date : 10th Sept. 2018. Conducted a TB Awareness Campaign in the School. Around 50 students of 9th std.( one division) were present. After explaining all the basics about TB( how, why, MDR TB, how to prevent, what we can do) the students took the Pledge under the guidance of Mrs. Lalitha to spread the message of TB menace in the society. The children showed a lot of interest and asked a lot of questions. Students asking good questions were rewarded with chocolates. After all this booklets on TB were distributed to all the participants.
Rotary Clubs of Navi Mumbai, 3rd Sept. 2018 : If many join then the fight is easier. Made a presentation to the Presidents of the Rotary Clubs in Navi Mumbai about the need to take forward the fight against TB Menace in the society. All gathered agreed. All the different Clubs Presidents will target their Interact and Rotaract Clubs to spread the message.

Sterling College, Commerce Section, Nerul ; Date : 4th Oct.2018.
Our Trust along with Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside and Samarth Clinic conducted TB awareness campaign this morning. Around 125 students and three staff members attended.
Dr. Mukul Thorat from Samarth Clinic made the presentation and he also talked about Malaria and Dengue.
As in the earlier sessions, the students took the Pledge to spread the message of the menace of TB in the society. This Pledge was led by Brigadier Dharamprakash.
At the end each participant was handed a booklet on TB written .
We wholeheartedly thank the Management of Sterling College for taking great interest by allowing us to conduct the campaign.
Sterling College of Pharmacy; Date : 27th July 2018: Our Trust along with Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside and Samarth Clinic conducted a TB awareness campaign at Sterling College, Nerul. A total of around 90 students and teachers along with the Principal, Dr. Rupesh Pingale, participated in the Campaign.
The Principal, Dr. Rupesh Pingale, gave the introduction on the importance of the Campaign followed by Mr. Radhakrishnan who gave a brief talk on the need of the Campaign against TB and why the Trust along with the other two NGOs were taking such great interest in the campaign.
This was followed by the presentation by Dr. Mukul Thorat. The presentation was very well received and then followed the Q&A session. Mrs. Janet D’Cruz led the Oath taking where the participants took an oath to spread the message of the menace of TB in the society.
Booklets on TB were distributed to all the participants.
Stri Mukti Sanghatana Centre, Koperkhairane ; Date :20th April : Our Trust along with Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside conducted a TB awareness campaign for the underprivileged students and their mothers. Radhakrishnan gave a brief talk on the importance of being aware of the menace of TB. This was followed by a video presentation on TB prepared by NMMC. An excellent video available in Marathi and Hindi. Later, the attendees were shown the Street Play that been staged on World TB Day by students in Nerul. The best part was when the audience clapped on hearing that the main character had recovered from MDR TB through proper medication.
A total of around 120 people attended the session.
24 th March: Today is World TB Day: Our Trust, Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside and Samantha Clinic took out a Rally to highlight the Menace of TB. It is heartening to note that Rotary District 3142 has taken up the cause of fighting the Menace of TB on a war footing.
Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside(President Rtn. Manoj Thakur), and Dr. Mukul Thorat of Samartha Clinic and our Trust have teamed up together to take the take the fight against TB forward. The Rally started from SIES at 9 am and ended at Nerul Railway Station, East. At Nerul Railway Station a Skit on TB was staged by the Students of DPS, DAV and Don Bosco schools. The Skit was a hit as it conveyed to the audience everything about TB in a crisp ten minute show. The Participant strength can be considered to be around 300 to 400 considering the number of people who joined in between and the people who spared their time to watch the Skit. The participants carried placards and leaflets on TB were distributed to people all along.
SIES College, Date, 19th March 2018 ; Attendees : 150 plus students.
As a part of our continuous campaign to reach out to the society and make people aware of the menace of TB, an awareness programme was held at SIES College. The students of the Commerce section participated.. It was heartening to note that such a large number of students participated and listened in rapt attention to the presentation of Dr. Girija Nair( HOD Pulmonary Dept.,D Y Patil School of Medicine). Dr. Shahid assisted Dr. Girija and he spoke about MDR TB. Under Brigadier Dharamprakash’s guidance all present took the pledge to spread the message of the menace of TB in the society.
This project of creating awareness about the menace of TB is being carried out jointly with D Y Patil School of Medicine and Rotary Club of New Bombay Seaside.
We are also happy that the Rotary District is taking up this programme along similar lines to create awareness in the society. This will result in the message spreading to a much wider section of the society and go a long way in curbing the menace of TB… If others also take up the cause of creating awareness…. We will be able to control it….. And finally eradicate it. Without awareness it would be an almost impossible talk.
TB Awareness Campaign; Location: Nerul Gymkhana Amphitheatre, Date : 6th January 2018 ; Attendees : 250 plus ( Parents and students ) : As a part of our continuous campaign to reach out to the society and make people aware of the menace of TB, an awareness programme was held and it was open to public. It was heartening to note that more than 250 parents and students attended the programme.
After the normal introduction, the presentation was made by Dr. Mukul Thorat. He explained wonderfully well about TB and the menace it can cause in simple language to the mixed audience. Backed up with simple slides, Dr. Mukul Thorat had the audience spellbound considering that the subject was a medical subject. The Q & A session that followed evinced good participation from the audience.
All the participants were then led by Lalitha Radhakrishnan to take the Pledge to act as ambassadors and spread the message of the menace of TB in the society. Booklets on TB in English, Hindi and Marathi ( in layman’s language – also available in the fb page and website) were distributed to all the participants with the request to pass on the vernacular ones to their servants, drivers, etc.
Dr. Mukul Thorat was presented a memento by the Trustees acknowledging his contribution in our fight against TB.
In order to spread the message of the menace of TB amongst the students our Trust had conducted an Essay ( Report) Writing Competition on the subject – ‘ Campaign Against TB Menace in the Society’ for the students of Navi Mumbai and the Essays(Reports) could be submitted in Marathi or English. The students were given a few months to prepare and submit a detailed report covering various aspects of TB, including interviewing doctors and patients.
Cash prizes and Meritorious Certificates were handed over to the Winners ( 1st, 2nd, & 3rd prizes and six Consolation Prizes) and Participation Certificates were handed over to the others who couldn’t get prizes. In all 48 students participated.
The first prize went to the team of three girls…girls from NMMC Secondary School, Shiravne….Sanjana Santosh Pawar, Shivani Maruti Patil & Sapna Ankush Bhalero….
The second prize went to the team from Father Agnel…Anushka Shinde, Sejal Zode and Rhea Jison.
There were two 3rd prizes……..The joint winners were…
Simone Joshi a student from Apeejay School, Nerul ;
and the team from Father Agnel (Rohit Sutar, Hrishabh Kolte, and Danshil Zatakia).

The TB Campaign was followed by the motivational talk by the speaker of the evening – Mr. Aditya Maheswaran. What a wonderful talk! The audience was spellbound. The audience seemed to be mesmerized. The way Aditya answered each and every question! The feedback from the audience to sum up Aditya’s talk … The Talk was a Life Changing Experience…Really superb.
The last session was a set of performances by the students…Songs, Dances, Instruments and a Skit.
